This is an IN-PERSON summer course
Songwriters have the unique opportunity to work through life’s ups and downs using the power of both imagery and melody. In a step-by-step process designed for both beginner and advanced performers alike, this five-day songwriting intensive will culminate in the performance of your own original song. Instrumentalists and vocalists of classical, jazz and various musical backgrounds are welcome to join.
We will compose musical ideas, develop themes into full melodies, and experiment with lyric writing. In addition, we will learn about song structure, chord progressions and basic music production (Youtube, Garageband, etc). Traditional and non-traditional songwriting instruments (cello, sax, computer, etc.) also encouraged. Singing not required, but greatly encouraged.
